After completing a Bachelor of Arts at UTAS with majors in Japanese and Chinese in 1998, Cheree spent a number of years doing further study overseas and working as a bi-lingual travel agent for Japanese companies in Osaka and Melbourne.
Returning to Tasmania in 2005 Cheree gained a Bachelor of Teaching with majors in LOTE and Humanities from UTAS and started working at Fahan teaching Japanese in 2006. Over a period of five years Cheree taught a range of subjects including English, ESL and Health.
From 2011 Cheree took an extended maternity leave and has returned to the position of Teacher Librarian in the Senior Library in 2015. While on leave Cheree took the opportunity to start post-graduate studies and is currently working towards a Masters of Education in Teacher Librarianship.
“I am excited to be working in the Senior Library and being part of a team that supports teachers and students to access resources and to develop competence in information literacy, an essential requirement of the 21st century!”
